Federal Employees Facing Uncertainty: You Are Not Alone
If you’re a federal employee like me, you’ve probably been hit with a flood of emails from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) lately. From discussions about remote workers returning to the office to those ominous “Fork in the Road” emails, it feels like a lot is being thrown at us—often with very little time to process, let alone make life-changing decisions.
I’ll be honest: when I first read those emails, I was like "what the fuck?". Anxiety, confusion, and even a bit of dread crept in. What’s next? Will my job be affected? How am I supposed to plan for the unknown? If you’ve had any of these thoughts, trust me, you’re not alone.
But then I took a step back. I reminded myself of something important—I’ve been through tough times before. In fact, 12 years ago, when I separated from active duty in the military, I ended up living in my car for months. My well-thought-out Plan A, B, C… all the way to F? None of them worked out. But I survived. Not just survived—I adapted, learned, and found resources that helped me rebuild.
That experience taught me something valuable: there are resources out there for people in need—more than most of us realize. And that’s why I created this page. If you’re worried about how to afford food, gas, or basic necessities in the coming months, I want you to know two things:
You are not alone.
There is help available—completely free.
I’ve put together a list of resources that can provide financial relief, food assistance, and other support. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, let me help point you in the right direction. Check out the resources section, and let’s get through this together.
💙 You’ve got this. And I’ve got your back.
